In the opening game for the Western Cascade Conference, Lakes comes out on top in their game at Shelton Friday night. The Shelton Highclimbers were able to score first but it was to be the only time they led all evening.
Lakes scored next but had their extra point blocked setting up a series of 2-point attempts that were to continue unsuccessfully all night for both teams. After scoring again making it Lakes 12 Shelton 7, Lakes 2 point conversion was shut down by the Highclimber defense. From that point on, each team would exchange touchdowns and 2-point attempts for the duration of the game. In a total of 9 touchdowns followed by 2-point conversion attempts, neither side was ever able to convert for the extra points.
Lakes quarterback, Nick Williams threw for over 300 yards in the evening and Dominick Davis ran for over 100 yards. It was again the ability for Lakes to move the ball down field both on the ground and in the air that made them unstoppable. Final score Lakes 36, Shelton 25
