Janet C. Miller
Janet C. Miller, born December 9, 1956 began her new journey with the Lord’s angels September 14, 2006. Janet passed away at home, surrounded by her family and those she loved.
Janet was born in Sasebo, Japan and lived in Tacoma, WA. Janet worked for Dept. of Social and Health Services, Lands and Building division. Janet loved traveling reading and spending time with family and friends. She was a kind, wonderful lady, adored by her family, friends, and co-workers.
Janet is survived by her mother Teruko, and sister Doris. Her father preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 3 & 9 PM, TODAY, Sept. 17, and 9 AM & 9 PM on Monday, Sept. 18, at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 in the Mountain View Garden chapel with a reception to follow.
Elizabeth L. Carlson
Elizabeth Lois Carlson passed away surrounded by her family on September 13, 2006. She was reunited with her husband of 57 years, Hugo and her parents Oscar and Anna Hallgren. Lois was born Feb 12, 1921 in Tacoma, WA and lived here most of her life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was retired from the University of Puget Sound. Lois enjoyed family gatherings, walks around the neighborhood and playing the piano. She was known for her love of dogs and always had a dog napping with her on the “davenport”. Lois is survived by her daughters Carol Lee (Bob) and MaryEllen Sohn (David), her grandchildren Sara and Aaron and her brother Jim Hallgren.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel with reception to follow.

Rosalie Shirley, daughter of Mary and Lee DeWeese, was born on August 26, 1923 in Sherman, Texas. She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, where, as a young woman, she met Dennis Shirley who was stationed there during World War II. They married after a courtship of just two weeks. Rosalie died on September 13, 2006, one month after their 63rd wedding anniversary. She dearly loved her family. She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Moore, and grandson, Mark Symes. She leaves behind her husband, Dennis, children, Sandi Turner, Diana Shirley Merrill, Dennis Shirley, and Stacy Lundemo, grandchildren Shawn Symes, Nick Merrill, Anna Merrill, and Mike Shirley, and great-granddaughter, Logahn Sue Symes.
A celebration of Rose’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, September 21, 2006 in the Oak Room at the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.
