Becki Sue & her Big Rockin’ Daddies!, has become the hottest bar and blues festival band in the region. After a humble start, playing the Steilacoom Deli & Pub in 2002-03, they recently won The Washington Blues Society’s (WBS) award for “Best Blues Band” of 2006.
As the WBS “Best Blues Band” award-winner, Becki Sue & her Big Rockin’ Daddies! will represent The WBS and the State of Washington at The Blues Foundation’s 23rd International Blues Challenge (IBC), held in Memphis, Tennessee on February 1-3, 2007. The IBC represents the largest gathering of blues bands in the world, with over 125 bands from all over the earth gathering to play on Beale Street to decide- who’s the best unsigned blues band?
Fundraiser shows, officially titled “Beale Street- or Bust!”, are being planned to help with the band’s expenses for their trip to Memphis, the first of which will be held in Tacoma at Jazzbones on Sunday, September 17 at 7 pm. The fundraiser will feature several top notch Pacific Northwest blues acts including Randy Oxford, Junkyard Jane, The Michal Miller Band, Ben Rice & the Youth of Blues, Rollie Tussing, and emcee Reverend Dave Brown.

P.S. By the way, I attended Park Lodge, Custer and graduated from Clover Park High. The Steilacoom Deli & Pub was the first place we played as a band! Look how far we’ve come!
