Bob Cammarano can ride 162 miles in three days, over three mountain passes, raise money for the Mary Bridge, and much more. Not bad considering Bob is also 75-years-old, and the oldest rider in the annual Courage Classic.
Bob was far from the only participant in the 2006 Courage Classic, which was held August 5-7. It began at Snoqualmie and finished in Skykomish. More than 130 riders and countless volunteers participated.
This was Bob’s ninth year riding. He was joined by his son, Philip, daughter-in-law, Barbara and 14-year-old grandson, Nick.
This year, riders raised more than $560,000, $80,000 more than 2005. To date, the Courage Classic Bicycle Tour has raised a total of $4.2 million.
Next year’s Classic will be August 4-6, so get your bike tuned up and get ready.
