Pierce County Parks and Recreation Department will again offer special interest programs at the Lakewood Community Center, 9112 Lakewood Drive SW, Lakewood. Programs include:
Indoor soccer league for children ages 4-7. Sign-up Sept. 7, 5:30-6:15 p.m. (Registration after Sept. 7 on space available basis).
Adult yoga (Viniyoga tradition) program. The class will be taught by Hal Meng, a certified and registered instructor. The class will run Tuesdays, Sept. 12-Oct. 31, 6:15-7:30 p.m., $63.
Middle Eastern Dance – Belly Dance, taught by Wendy Miklos. Ms. Miklos practices and teaches belly dancing as way to relieve stress from her daily medical practice at Madigan. This low impact dance form is a fun fitness opportunity, while learning about a different culture. The class is offered on Thursdays, Sept. 28-Nov. 16, 7-8 p.m., $40.
Be sure to pre-register for yoga and dance at least 5 days prior to the first class to ensure your spot in the class.
Jazzercise, at the Lakewood Community Center since 1983, is another way to get energized this fall. It’s held Tu/Th evenings from 5:45-6:45 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. and taught by Dawn Nanfito. The fee range is $30-38/month, paid at the class.
