For the first time since its formation in 2002, Northwest Commercial Bank is venturing from the Lakewood area for a new member of its board of directors.
Dr. Henry Reitzug, a pediatrician in the Puyallup area since 1979, has been elected to the board, according to Kurt Graff, president and CEO of the Lakewood based bank.
In addition to his personal medical practice, Dr. Reitzug founded and is CEO of Woodcreek Healthcare, a medical practice with locations in Puyallup, South Hill and Bonney Lake. The system employs more than 130 people. Starting in 2003, Dr. Reitzug developed the Sunrise Medical Campus, a 16-clinic medical campus covering 15 acres on South Hill. The medical campus is currently being further expanded to serve the growing south Puget Sound population.
Dr. Reitzug is married and he and his wife Anne have six children and five grandchildren. They make their home on a farm in Graham.
Born in Germany, he came to the United States with his parents in 1956 and became an American citizen six years later. He grew up in Indiana and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BS degree. He received his medical degree four years later from Indiana University School of Medicine where he specialized in pediatrics.
He served in the US Army for six years in the early 1970s and received additional pediatric training at Madigan Army Hospital.
The Puyallup physician has served on the board of directors of Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, the Elbe Historical Church board and has served as a church deacon. Dr. Reitzug has also served in disaster relief as a physician with Northwest Medical Teams in Albania, southern Mexico, Mozambique, Viet Nam, Afghanistan and Uganda.
Northwest Commercial Bank, formed in 2002 by a group of Lakewood area business people, has grown rapidly in the last couple years and reported total assets of nearly $60 million at the end of July. Northwest Commercial Bank is located at 5726 100th Street SW in Lakewood.
