Members of the Lakewood First Lions Club joined several other South Puget Sound Lions Clubs to bless the ground where a single story, wheelchair accessible house for the Bungert family will be built. Area Lions Clubs contributed $12,500 which was matched by Lions International Foundation and that was finally matched by Habitat for Humanity for a total of $50,000.
Construction on the house will begin shortly and members for all the Clubs will be given an opportunity to assist in its construction.
Tom Bungert is a paraplegic so the home will be constructed with special features that will accommodate him. This home is being used by Habitat for Humanity as a model for future adventures with paraplegics.
