Born in Kennard, NE to Leslie Ira-James Chase & Goldie Mae Robinson, she was a dedicated military wife. She adored her pets, friends, nature and life. After retiring from P.S. National Bank, she volunteered at the Fort Lewis Thrift Shop. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John and her brother Jack(Chase). She is survived by her children: Dale, Jack, Glenn, Annalise, Angie, their spouses, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, sister Dolores (Simonson) and many dear friends. Services will he held at 1:00 pm on Saturday June 17, 2006 at the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel.
Helene Kazuko Barbadillo

Helene Kazuko Barbadillo passed away on 6/9/06 surrounded by her loving family. She will be missed and remembered for her love of family and devotion as a mother.
Born on 6/1/1932 in Yokohama, Japan, she came to the U.S. in 1951 as a military bride. She believed that education was an important building block for success and with her schooling in professional dressmaking she became an entrepreneur and opened the European Tailoring & Alteration Shop in Lakewood until she retired. Being a military wife of 20 years she traveled abroad to Hawaii and Japan and was fortunate while on military assignment, to spend many times in her native hometown with her immediate family. She loved to bargain shop, cook, travel, take long walks and enjoy nature. She is survived by her husband Florencio (Barb) of 54 years, and her children Dennis Barbadillo (Ann), Alice Bush (Kenny), Carol Mattich (Mike) and grandson Ryan Mattich.
At her wish, a private family burial was held at Mountain View Funeral Home. The family extends their deepest appreciation to the Oncology Unit and Hospice at Group Health of Tacoma.
Patricia Sonsteng, a wonderful witness to God, wife, mother and grandmother, returned to our Lord June 9, 2006. Born in Oregon City, OR, on February 5, 1938, she graduated from Hermiston High (1956) and Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle, WA. (1972). Married the love of her life Jarl A. Sonsteng May 29, 1959.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Jarl, her son James, daughter Jarlanne, son Jonathan, 7 grandchildren 1 great-grandchild, and brother Oliver and wife Betty Bristow of Eagle Creek, OR.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at United Lutheran Church.
Alice E. Brown
Alice, age 94 died peacefully on June 10, 2006. Born July 23, 1911 in Milroy Minn. to Otto & Anna Larson. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dave, one brother and three sisters and niece Patricia Jacobs.
She is survived by her sister Louise Jacobs and sister-in-law Clarice Larson. She is also survived by nephew & niece Bob and Ann Larson, incredible nephew Dan, Debbie and Garrett Lean who were always there for her and several other nephews and nieces.
Also many thanks to the staff, friends & Gladys Coffee at Manor Care for their loving care.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thurs. June 15, 2006 at the Mountain View Funeral Home Garden Chapel.
Shirley J. (Lindstrom) Olson
Shirley Olson, 76, of Spanaway, passed away June 10, 2006. After graduation from high school, she worked at The Cannery in Sumner when it was an actual food cannery and went on to retire as a Federal Employee working at Ft. Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rolf Lindstrom, her parents Fred and Molly Tripple and sister Janet Pelletier.
She is survived by her children Tina Lindstrom Vogel (Steve) and Alan Lindstrom (Cathy), brother Alvin Tripple (Dorothy), eight grandchildren Ericka, Kristopher, Kevin, Matthew, Moriah, Joshua, Katie and Michaela and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, June 17, 2006 at the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
Edith L. Rattenbury
Edith L. Rattenbury died June 13, 2006 peacefully, at the age of 85. She was born September 28, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband Wally Rattenbury.
Edith is survived by children Walt, Sandy, Annie; grandchildren Robert, Dan, Mark, Wade, Matt, Michelle, Jennifer; and great-grandchildren Tiffany, Trent, Brittanie, Aaron, Ariel, Corey, Gabby, Serenity, Trevor, Wyatt, Nolan, and Jacob.
She loved her family and pets. We loved her and will miss her so much.
Graveside service: 3:30PM, Friday, June 16, 2006, at Mountain View Memorial Park (meet in the Mt. View Funeral Home office).
Gregory G. Johnson
Greg Johnson, 58, of Parkland, passed away Sunday June 11, 2006. He was a 1966 graduate of Stadium High School and went on to earn a Liberal Arts Degree at Pacific Lutheran University. He was a supervisor of processing and distribution for the US Postal Service for over 20 years.
Greg is survived by his wife Donna Mae, children Ashley Johnson, Mike Damiano, and Toni Renee Damiano, mother Virginia Johnson Howell, sister Carla Smith (Frank), 3 grandchildren Amber Rose Damiano, Jordan Lewis Owings, and Jessica Renee Damiano, 1 great-grandchild Maya Rayne Valdez, his best friends Randy Isaac and Doug Bloom, and numerous friends and golf buddies.
The family would like to thank Doug and Dorothy for the loving care and support you provided when we needed you.
A reception to celebrate Greg’s life will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the AMVETS Hall 5717 So. Tyler in Tacoma.

Gil was born to George and Marie Aldrich in Spanaway, WA, and lived in the Pierce County area most of his life. He was a Veteran of WWII, fighting in the “Battle of the Bulge” with the US Army Infantry.
From 1936-1977 he worked on many homes and buildings in the area. In April this year he received his “70 Year” pin from the Carpenters Union #470. Quite a milestone! He was also a member of the VFW (Wild West Post #91) since 1945, and Eagles (FOE Aerie #3) since 1947.
For years he belonged to “The Western Travelers Flying Club” at Thun Field and loved to fly. He loved being outside. His vegetable gardens fed family and friends, and he took pride in his huge beautiful yards. At 89, he still moved his lawn when needed.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister Bernice, brother George and daughter Joan. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Beulah, daughters: Janice (Frank) Fleming of Puyallup, Julie (Rick) White of Puyallup and June (Norm) Sena of Buckley, son John (Becky) Aldrich of Eatonville, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1-9 pm on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 17, 2006 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
Born April 11, 1906 in Andover, South Dakota. Preceded in death by husband William M. Lobland in 1986 and son John W. Lobland, April 7, 2006, four days prior to her 100th Birthday.
Survived by daughters: Lois L. Tobin and Ruth L. Sumey (Jack), daughter-in-law Susan K. Lobland, grandson Patrick D. Tobin (Janice), great-grandson Shawn Patrick Tobin, and granddaughter Mary S. Kehl (Kevin).
