For the week of April 18-24 Lakewood Fire District 2 responded to 154 calls for service. For 2006, Lakewood Fire has responded to 2,851 calls.
April 20 & 6400 block of 150th St SW & Lakewood Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a 15-year old female who fell from a horse. Firefighters arrived to find the patient complaining of pain in her left shoulder. Firefighters examined the patient, immobilized her and then transported her to an area hospital.
April 20 & Fort Steilacoom Park & Firefighters responded to a report of a 28-year old female who was attacked by a pit bull while walking her small dog at Fort Steilacoom Park. The patient bent down to pick up her dog when the pit bull attacked. The patient was bitten on the right side of her head, face and elbow. Firefighters treated her wounds and then transported her to St. Clare Hospital for further treatment.
April 24 & 10600 block of South Tacoma Way & Fire Department personnel responded to a reported bicycle crash. Firefighters arrived to find a 48-year old male who fell from his bicycle and “felt his collar bone break.” Firefighters examined the patient and found deformities in his right clavicle. Firefighters bound the patients arm with a sling and he was transported to St. Clare Hospital for further treatment.
