In response to concerns raised by citizens, the City of Lakewood and the police department are exploring possible changes to the city’s fireworks regulations.
Currently, only common fireworks that can be purchase at typical fireworks stands are allowed in Lakewood. Fireworks may be discharged between 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 3-5 and on December 31 from 11 p.m. to January 1 ceasing at 1 a.m.
Lakewood is seeking the community’s input regarding this important issue.
The Police will be presenting proposed changes at upcoming neighborhood and public meetings to be held April 27 and May 16 at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 6000 Main St SW. The Lakewood city website is also hosting an online survey.
