Tacoma Community College will present its annual Surgical Demonstration Day April 28 on the college’s main campus. More than 300 observers from local high schools (including Steilacoom High School) and colleges (Clover Park Technical College) are expected to attend the invitation-only event. The TCC Biology Department is organizing Surgical Demonstration Day in partnership with Multicare Health System and the Madigan Army Hospital Surgical Department.
TCC students in the Human Cadaver Prosection course will explain anatomy and demonstrate surgical procedures they have learned from Madigan surgeons. This year’s presentations will be cardiac anatomy; knee anatomy; carpal tunnel anatomy; and urinary tract anatomy. There will also be a presentation of a whole cadaver.
The demonstrations will be held in Building 14 on TCC’s main campus, 6501 S. 19th St., Tacoma. Parking is available in the unmarked spaces on the west side of the campus, accessed off of Mildred Street.
Invited guests must RSVP to 253.566.5060 or online.
