For the week of March 28 to April 4, 2006 Lakewood Fire District 2 responded to 176 calls for service. For the year 2006 we have responded to 2,392 calls for service.
March 29, 2006
Engine 211 responded to a report of smoke in a business at 3815 100th Street. On arrival they found that a fan had overheated in the bathroom. A representative from the business was contacted. Firefighters removed the fan from the structure.
March 30, 2006
Lakewood Fire District 2 personnel responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in the area of 84th Street South and 31st Avenue South. On arrival they found two vehicles were involved in the incident. Firefighters examined and treated two patients. One of the drivers was a 55 year old female who was complaining of pain in her right knee. She had been wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision. The second patient, a 29 year old female had been the driver of the second vehicle. She also was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, her airbags had deployed and the patient was experiencing pain and tenderness in her chest. Both of the patients were transported to St. Clare Hospital for further treatment.
March 31, 2006
Lakewood firefighters responded to a report of a patient with leg pain. On arrival in the 5400 block of Steilacoom Boulevard they found a 12 year old female experiencing severe pain in her left leg. The patient had been stretching when she heard a loud “pop” and then felt the pain. The patient was transported to Madigan Army Medical Center for further evaluation.

Fire department personnel responded to a report of a patient experiencing an allergic reaction in the 9500 block of Bridgeport Way SW. On arrival firefighters found a 47 year old female who was experiencing swelling in her throat due to a food allergy. Paramedics administered an antihistamine and the patient was transported to St. Clare Hospital for further evaluation.
