Election worker Jim Taylor of Steilacoom demonstrates how the touch screen voting machine is operated. The card is inserted into the machine to allow the voter to activate the computer screen.
The voter card activates the touch screen voting machine.
A hard copy of all votes is recorded on the miniature printer to the left of the screen, thus providing a positive backup for all voting activity. After a voter finishes voting, the hard copy is automatically stored inside the sealed printer container.
Complete instructions on how to vote are permanently mounted to the right of the touch screen.
