Washington GOP Senate candidate Mike McGavick told a gathering of 160 supporters that he has six issues that he feels need to be addressed in the coming election campaign and in Congress during the coming years. Speaking at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club with a table filled with Iraq and Afghanistan Army and Air Force veterans, McGavick said a top issue is winning the war. "You can’t say ‘I’m against the war but I support our troops’," as he listed the war on terrorism as a top item in his list.
Other issues included eliminating the deficit, securing the nation’s borders, reforming the health care system and protecting the environment.
McGavick started his campaign to unseat Senator Maria Cantwell last week with speeches around the state. The local meeting was organized by the Lakewood Republican Women.
