Operation Homefront’s Washington Chapter is based in Snohomish, Washington, but provides support for soldiers and family members at Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base. The chapter offers programs to help injured soldiers, families who have a deployed family member, and a Christmas program for the community to adopt a military family for the holidays.
Although Operation Homefront Washington only started a year ago this month, it has helped hundreds of soldiers and family members and has gotten companies and organizations such as Qwest and the Seattle Seahawks involved.
President Janice Buckley opened the chapter out of a love for the military and wanting to let them know they are loved and supported. She wants soldiers to know that what they are doing is very important. That they are helping to “forge the destiny of another country” and that their sacrifices are not forgotten.
