Galloping Gerties turns 64 in July and is having a month-long party to celebrate that includes special Frisbee burgers. A different burger will be featured each day and sold on sourvenir Frisbees – good until the frisbees are gone. Monthly specials will end in .64 to celebrate the milestone.
Gerties is the only and oldest family-owned and local business left in Tillicum (besides Bill’s Boathouse). Gertie opened her little hamburger joint in 1952. She became a hit with the troops (GIs then) and it remains that way to this day. Troops love her biscuits and SOS, Bigfoot chicken fried steaks and the Bazinga Burger.
Galloping Gerties was named after Gertie’s interest in race horses, not after the Narrows Bridge. When you visit Gerties you will see racehorse pictures and memorabilia along with salutes to the troops.
Gertie’s is a fun and friendly place to be. Sassy waitresses and cooks with attitude enliven the atmosphere of Gerties. There is nowhere quite like Gerties! Come experience it for yourself during her 64th birthday!
