CWA Coach receives NFF ‘Coach of the Year’ Award

TACOMA – Charles Wright Academy’s Head Football Coach Mike Finch received the ‘Coach of the Year’ award during the 37th annual National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete Banquet. The event was held on Sunday, May 5th in Tacoma. This honor caps off his team’s stellar season. The Charles Wright Academy Tarriers clinched the 2012 WIAA 1A Nisqually League championship.

Bob Lucey, Executive Director for the Tacoma/Pierce County chapter of the National Football Foundation lauded Finch for his dedication to the players and the game of football.

Finch graduated from Harvard University where he played defensive back for the Crimson. He has been a part of the faculty at the Tacoma private school since since 2007. In addition to Finch’s award, 43 young men from the South Puget Sound region were honored for their academic achievements, athletic performance, leadership, and community service.
