593rd Sustainment Brigade Deployment Ceremony

Fort Lewis, Wash. – The 593rd Sustainment Brigade will case their colors Wednesday, April 22, at 10 a.m., during a deployment ceremony at Seay Field in preparation for the units’ upcoming deployment to Iraq.

About 450 Soldiers from the 593rd SB will deploy to Kuwait to provide logistical support to Multi-National Corps Iraq in support of Operation
Iraqi Freedom. This is the units’ third deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In November 2003 the brigade deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the 593 Corps Support Group where the unit took over the logistical mission in Iraq supporting the 13th Corps Support Command.

The unit returned to Iraq in June 2005 to once again support the logistical mission in Iraq for the 13th Corps Support Command.
